Junior Achievement High School Advanced Manufacturing Careers Expo

Watch the Expo in Action!
Students will:
- Learn about career options in advanced manufacturing.
- Receive hands-on experience with equipment used on the job.
- Speak with instructors and career counselors from the John T. Blong Technology Center regarding education, training, financial assistance, and skills required for the jobs.
Areas of focus include:
- CNC/Machining
- Electromechanical
- Logistics
- Mechanical Design/Pro-E
- Renewable Energy
- Welding
Approximately 350 students from 22 area high school will attend the Expo. The participating students have been selected by their teachers based on their interest level in advanced manufacturing careers or they have demonstrated the skills and aptitudes required for these types of jobs.
2011 Scholarship Essay Contest!
Participating students have the opportunity to enter a Scholarship Essay Contest.
Deadline for entry is 4:30 p.m. on November 4, 2011.

Congratulations to our 2010 Scholarship Winners!

Trent LeBarge (right), a senior at Pleasant Valley, and Dylan Webster (left),
a junior at North Scott, were presented with $2,500 scholarships by John Riches of
the Alcoa Foundation. The scholarships will allow them to pursue training
in advanced manufacturing at the John T. Blong Technology Center.
